Neve Amal Neve Amal neighbourhood boundaries: Derech Yerushalayim road to the west and Portzei HaDerech Street to the east, bordering the orchards of Moshav Givat Hen. Neighbourhood characteristics: Primarily detached houses on plots of between 250 sqm and 750 sqm, and two-storey buildings (such as Tzahal Street and the continuation of Katznelson Street). Over the years, new and modern houses have replaced a large portion of the older properties. Gordon and Rambam (religious) primary schools, and the Beit Foster community centre, which includes a tennis court. The neighbourhood has numerous synagogues and a portion of its residents are traditional-religious. Gordon primary school for the arts is a draw for families in Neve Amal. There is an urban renewal plan covering the entire neighbourhood, which has increased building rights and the permitted number of housing units. On HaPartizanim Street, new apartments can be found under the Tama 38 (seismic-retrofit scheme) framework. In several locations across the neighbourhood there are 2 - 3 storey buildings; in the northern part of the neighbourhood, on streets such as HaTapuach, HaTamar, HaTene, Portzei HaDerech and others, there are 3 and 4 room apartments, including garden and roof apartments built in the 90s. There is relatively little commercial space in the neighbourhood. Neve Amal undoubtedly feels like a village with proximity to the city.
