The enquiry that matters more than all the rest

If you have come across a page, a form or an action that cannot be used — we would be glad if you told us. Such an enquiry is handled as a fault, not as a request, and we undertake to get back to you.

When you contact us, please try to state the page address, what you were trying to do, and which assistive technology or browser you were using. These three details are the difference between a fault that can be reproduced and one that can only be guessed at.

What has been done on this site

The following list describes accommodations that exist on the site now, not intentions. Each of them can be checked on the page itself.

The site was built in Hebrew, right to left, with the language and direction declared in the code — which lets a screen reader pronounce it correctly.
At the top of every page there is a "Skip to main content" link, which appears on the first press of Tab and skips over the menu.
Every link, button and field can be reached using the keyboard alone, and every focused element has a visible focus indicator.
The gallery on the property page is keyboard-controlled: arrow keys to change picture, Home and End for the first and the last.
The mobile navigation menu closes with the Escape key, and focus returns to the button that opened it.
The page structure is semantic: headings in hierarchy, forms with associated labels, and tables with column headers.
Every form field has an associated label, not just placeholder text — so what explains the field does not vanish the moment you start typing.
Anyone who has set a reduced-motion preference in their operating system gets the site without transition animations.
Content images are accompanied by alternative text, and purely decorative images are deliberately hidden from screen readers.
Pages are built on the server and served as HTML, so the content exists even without JavaScript.

The standard we aim for

We aim for Israeli Standard 5568 at level AA, which is based on the WCAG 2.0 guidelines of the W3C standards organisation.

Accessibility work on the site is carried out on an ongoing basis against this standard. This statement does not establish full conformance with the standard — we implement the accommodations, test them and fix defects as they are discovered or reported to us. If you have come across something that does not work, the contact above is the fastest way to get it handled.

What is not yet accessible

Every site has parts whose accommodation is partial. These are ours, as of today:

The maps on the site are embedded from external services — OpenStreetMap on the "Contact" page and govmap on the radiation sites page — and their accessibility is that of those services and not within our control. On the "Contact" page the address also appears as text beside the map; on the radiation sites page there is a direct link to the map at its source and to the relevant layer in it. If you need information shown only on a map — call us and we will provide it.
Property pictures come from the system in which the properties are entered. We add a description to them, and a new property may go up with a partial description until it is completed.
Downloadable documents originating from an external party — for example permits or plans — are published in the format in which they were given to us. If you need such a document in an accessible format, contact us and we will send it.

Accessibility at the office

Details of the physical accessibility of the office have not yet been published here. Until they are — if you are planning to visit and need information about access routes, parking or a particular accommodation, call us in advance and we will see to it.

This statement is updated with every material change to the site or to its accessibility accommodations.
