Nof Yam – Herzliya Pituach Herzliya Pituach is located in the western part of Herzliya West of the Coastal Road and bordering the Mediterranean Sea Most properties in Herzliya Pituach are detached houses, with a few residential buildings alongside an industrial zone that is bustling by day and serves as Herzliya's entertainment centre by night. Naturally, prices rise the closer a property is to the sea. Nof Yam is a neighbourhood north of Herzliya Pituach. Here too, you will find private houses alongside a few older 2-storey buildings. Borders: Located in the west of the city, north of Herzliya Pituach, west of the Coastal Road. The neighbourhood was established in 1946 by members of "Neve Oved", after the establishment of the State. Neighbourhood characteristics: The neighbourhood formerly housed the Nof Yam transit camp, and some of the asbestos houses still exist and are occupied. In addition to the terraced blocks built in its early days, the neighbourhood features older private houses, some of which have been demolished and replaced by new, luxurious homes. North-west of the neighbourhood, very close to residents' homes, there was a military industry factory. In 1992, a large explosion occurred at the factory, causing extensive damage to residents' homes and 2 fatalities. Following the explosion and pressure from residents, the factory was closed within a few years, but most of its area remains closed due to concerns about toxic materials. The Apollonia National Park is located nearby.
